The Misery of me

It was the magnetism of 'Tom Cruise' in 'Interview with a vampire' or the emotional 'Welcome home - Roxy Carmichael' which made me an avid Hollywood buff. Whatever it was, I am deeply thankful to it for I am no longer an average Indian who goes out to see every other English movie which has a mind blowing trailor showing more skin than Basic Instinct and is shown twenty times every half an hour. I am also thankful for it has opened me up to an unexplored world of fantastic unthinkable stories with life changing characters. Never have I been in more awe of what a human is capable of than when I see a movie like Shawshank Redemption, often asking myself "how can a human achieve this ?" Another movie might answer this, I suppose.

I remember going to a matinee show of a Salman Khan's movie along with couple of school friends about a zillion years ago. Twenty minutes into the story and I found myself looking at other people sitting there to see if something is worth watching , like a hot girl. Disappointed, I left the theatre with a mild headache and cursing Salman and the stupid director for making such a pointless movie with no story. I vowed to end my hindi movie adventures there and then. It wasn't sudden you know, there were many instances when I sat down to see a flick and had to leave it midway because it was boring as hell. Nothing new ever came out of bollywood ,save maybe ten so far in fifteen years.
